Our Culture

Our culture is what makes Altus what it is today - inclusive and welcoming, with a zero-tolerance stance to bullying, harassment and other forms of discrimination.

Diversity, inclusivity, and wellbeing are at the core of our company’s values. We want an environment where employees choose to be brilliant and feel empowered to bring their whole self to work. This culture is being led by the directors of the business, one of whom is sponsoring our D&I initiative. Our management ensure that employees from all backgrounds are treated equally and contribute fully to our vision. We recognise there is always room to grow in our understanding and support of others and are committed to increasing diversity within our organisation by looking at how we approach recruitment, our HR policies, internal communication processes and offering teach-ins and external training to support our employees tackle areas such as unconscious bias. We are thrilled to be supporters of the Diversity Project, working with our peers within Investments and Savings to build a more inclusive industry.

We understand the importance of creating a safe space where every employee feels valued. Our monthly anonymous wellbeing surveys allow our team to give feedback on the good and the bad, a place where concerns and suggestions can be raised. This helps to foster an inclusive environment which enables us to grow and thrive.

We take our team's wellbeing seriously, making sure we monitor, support and improve the services we provide. We are committed to improving our employees wellbeing and understand the importance of adopting a proactive and preventative approach in the workplace.

As part of our Wellbeing Strategy we have in place a team of Health and Wellbeing Champions. They provide confidential support to anyone who may be struggling with any physical or emotional distress and can signpost them to services. They also help raise awareness of the many wellbeing activities we organise throughout the year.

We want to foster a culture where employees feel able to talk openly about mental health. All our management team have undergone mental health training to help equip them with the knowledge and tools to identify poor mental health within their teams and give them the confidence to take action.

We offer access to an Employee Assistance Programme, private medical insurance, volunteering days, lunchtime yogalates and an online Altus Wellbeing Resource Library packed with a wide range of resources and tools.

Our family social events demonstrate how much we value and acknowledge contributions from our team, but also the families that support them. By offering flexible working we hope to enable our team to enjoy a better work/life balance.

As we look towards the future, we aim to continually challenge ourselves in our inclusion practices, by investing in diversity and wellbeing, and acknowledging that there’s always room for growth.
