Altus and Headlight make Christmas brighter for mental health patients

Altus has raised £480 for the Headlight Mental Health Charity.

The company’s staff made additional donations towards winter care packages and festive treats that are distributed to patients at Christmas, a time of the year that can be particularly difficult for people with mental health issues.

Headlight is Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust’s registered charity. Its mission is to make life better for the people who turn to the Trust for help with mental health problems. Over 35,000 people are supported each year by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. Headlight provides each patient with extras that wouldn’t otherwise be possible from NHS funding.

Altus Managing Director Kevin Okell commented: “At a time when we see the NHS budget stretched beyond limits, people rely more and more on charities like Headlight to make treatments more effective through complementary activities. Headlight is doing a fantastic job for mental health patients in Bath and Wiltshire, and we are very proud to have been able to help them in their mission.”

Headlight Fundraising Manager Tia Shortall said: “We’re delighted that Altus has chosen to support Headlight Mental Health Charity. We’re a small, local charity covering the Bath Bristol and Wiltshire area and their support makes a huge difference to us. We received a generous collection of items for our care packages which were given to vulnerable patients at Christmas-time, along with a donation that will help us to continue our work. We’d like to thank Altus and all its employees for their generosity and for supporting mental health in our local community this Christmas!”
