Jonathan has been working in financial services for 20 years, with experience focused in the investment platform market.
What was your background before joining Altus?
Prior to Altus, I spent fifteen years in the investment platform market with James Hay Partnership, working across operations, propositions, change and transformation. Outside of financial services, I spent time in the retail industry around education and ran a web design business outside of full time employment.
What attracted you to Altus?
I was working in the investment platform market but was aware of Altus and had previously met, and worked with some of the Altus team, before an Altus contact offered to put me forward for a role. I knew Altus was a well respected business with a great culture and the opportunity to get into consulting and go on an exponential learning curve was a real motivating factor.
Tell us a bit about your team.
The team at Altus is great and the culture around work is very collaborative and supportive. Consulting has a very flat hierarchical structure but we all work together.
What do you do in your role?
Your time at Altus is always different and in the best way, challenging. If you like variety, you will thrive in consulting. You can be working for a client on their operating model, deliver the work, and then go straight into a strategy piece for a completely different client in another sector of the industry. At times you may lead the engagement, other times you are part of the core team. Beyond the work, we spend time networking and doing business development, attending events and training.
What do you enjoy about working here?
For me, it is the learning environment. You get the opportunity to work with some of the top minds in the industry. We have a great work, life balance with great emphasis placed on wellbeing and the employee experience.
How has your role changed since being here?
I started at a Consultant and while there was a learning curve, I have since progressed to a Senior Consultant and on to the Head of Innovation. Altus is a working environment without restriction. You are granted freedom to grow your role.
What has made you stay?
Altus has a great culture. I have never experienced a working culture where everybody wants you to succeed and I remain grateful for the opportunity to work at Altus. The work is dynamic and consulting is a great elevator for careers. I went from a senior position to supporting c-suite level executives on their operation, role and helping form/execute their strategy.
