Watson Wyatt Technology and Administration Solutions automates e-filing with the Altus Gateway

1st Oct '07

With the introduction of mandatory electronic filing of pension returns to HMRC looming, Watson Wyatt Technology and Administration Solutions has automated their entire UK e-filing process using the Altus Pensions Gateway.

Watson Wyatt is the trusted business partner to the world’s leading organisations on people and financial issues. Their technology and administration solutions practice makes optimum use of internet technology and automated processes to give the highest level of service to their clients. Kathy Cruse,
Senior Consultant at Watson Wyatt says, “We put considerable effort into ensuring all our processes are highly automated and strictly controlled. Although we have the capability to develop our own solution for HMRC e-filing, it very quickly became clear that Altus already had a comprehensive and well-structured product that would meet all our needs.”

Altus Product Manager Ben Cocks sees the Watson Wyatt decision as further support for the Altus approach: “We didn’t need to explain the benefits of an automated solution to a company like Watson Wyatt who are often at the forefront of process automation initiatives. However, the fact that our offering
addressed all of the issues they raised and dove-tailed so well with their current systems and processes is a great credit to the Altus team.”

Electronic filing of pension returns to HMRC becomes mandatory on 16th October 2007. A recent survey carried out by Altus showed that more than 4 out of 5 pension administrators still had concerns about their readiness for e-filing.
