Altus bypass HMRC website problems

5th Feb '08

January 31st 2008 saw the first deadline for the new annual pension scheme returns introduced as part of the A-Day reforms. Many pension administrators struggled to meet the deadline due to the well-publicised problems with HMRC’s website. However, administrators using the Altus automated e-filing service were not affected.

Ben Cocks, Product Manager at Altus, said: “In the week running up to the January 31st deadline, when many companies were struggling to even log on to the HMRC site, our clients submitted thousands of returns with some individual returns containing over a thousand reportable events. We were signing up new clients for our service as late as January 30th but they still managed to complete their returns before the deadline.”

Kristian Morgans of IPS Pensions Ltd said "At what must have been an incredibly busy time for them, Altus were supportive, responded very quickly to any queries I had and were on hand at all hours to deal with issues. This support was very much appreciated at what was a stressful time, given the time constraints."
