As part of the A-Day pension reforms, HMRC introduced electronic filing of returns from pension scheme administrators and paper returns are now no longer accepted. The Altus Pensions Gateway automates the submission of all HMRC returns including Accounting for Tax, Event Report, and the Pension Annual Return. Ours was the first pension e-filing product to be formally recognised by HMRC.
HMRC have also tightened the rules for filing pension returns and introduced new Administrator and Practitioner roles with specific responsibilities for e-filing. Our Managing e-filing report describes these new roles and outlines an approach for satisfying the new rules.
The Altus PAYE Gateway can be used alongside the Altus Pensions Gateway to support PAYE returns for pension and annuity income including the new HMRC requirements for Retirement Annuity PAYE returns from April 2007.
