Capita Life & Pensions implement Altus EA Framework

Capita Life & Pensions Services is the clear market leader in business process outsourcing to the UK Life & Pensions industry. With two more deals announced recently, Capita will soon be administering 26 million policies on behalf of many of the UK’s leading L&P providers. Operating on this scale presents a clear opportunity for the delivery of a utility model but also some big architectural challenges both at a business and technology level.

Capita chose Altus to help accelerate the architecture effort and together we have now developed a tailored version of the Altus EA Framework to help shape and manage the utility platform for Life & Pensions. The new framework defines the artefacts which will make up the Capita architecture, includes core reference models for integration across domains, defines templates to ensure consistency of approach and guides governance of change across projects.

According to Business Solutions Director, Neil Ratcliffe, “The Altus Framework offered us both an integrated approach to Life & Pensions architecture plus a real head-start in producing the detailed business content we needed to manage large-scale change.”
